I like this successful speech. In the very beginning, the speaker told us why she wanted to commemorate Teresa Teng and simply described how famous she was. The reason she liked Teresa and wanted to commemorate her was mainly because her parents also liked Teresa. After the speaker telling us that Teresa passed away because asthma, she began to describe Teresa’s achievement and her historical life. I think she was successful in this part because she even started from Teresa’s childhood so that we can understand her background. After we understand her background, her achievement and her denotation to the world, we are inspired and really admired Teresa. The speaker also adapted her remarks to the occasion. The speaker clearly expressed what she wanted to say. However, it will be better if the speaker could add much more feelings of sad or disappointed sentiments. I suggest the speaker to speak louder and put more emotion inside of the speech. It can help the audience feel more about the atmosphere. We can also see that the speaker was well-prepared for the speech; somehow she saw the notes several times because of nervous. I think it might be a good way if she just use outline to remind herself next time instead of use the whole paragraph. All in all, we still can see that the speech was delivered with sincerity and the overall speech was meaningful for the audience who all knew Teresa Teng and appreciated her. I believed that the speaker will be successful in delivering speech after this very practicing.
